Grace has over 20 years of Metalsmithing and Design experience, Gemological Institute of America Graduate Jeweler and Gemologist certification and is currently a faculty member at Herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI and was a teaching artist at the Indianapolis Art Center.
Group Classes and workshops
Group Classes and workshops are available for groups of two to ten. For larger, we can discuss options. You can start at the beginning or I can tailor specific classes according to your interests. This is a great opportunity for team building. Contact me if you are interested and we can set it up. I also offer youth classes and workshops. Homeschool groups, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and other your clubs are welcome. We can tailor lessons to fit with your curriculum, badges, patches, team exercises ect.
Private Classes
Want one on one instruction? Private instruction is available and is a popular option. We can start with basics or if you have taken Metalsmithing classes before and want to learn a specific skill, I can tailor the class to fit your needs. Some examples of skills taught are: sawing and piercing, riveting, soldering, flex shaft practices, forging, forming, casting, stone setting, texturing, etching and more.Classes include use of studio tools. Metal and solder are the students responsibility to purchase. Contact me for booking. (My books are full for the rest of 2025 but I will update availability in January 2026).
7 Week Course
Meets Tuesday Evenings 6-9pm, Starting Sept. 8 ending Oct.27th. We skip Oct. 13th as I have another engagement that week.
All levels of Metalsmith are welcome. Ages 18 and up.
Instruction includes:
Sawing/piercing
Smith Torch/ Soldering and Annealing
Bezel Setting
Cold Connections
Texturing
Polishing
And more!
I’ll have specific projects for each skill but I will also help students work on their own designs and projects.
Students will need to purchase their own metal and a few expendable supplies. Should not be more than approximately $75 total for basic projects. If you are wanting to make more side projects or use more sterling silver, supplies could be more. Students have access to use the studio tools but are welcome to bring your own.

This class includes 3 plant tags and 1 bejeweled plant stake. More tags may be purchased for a small fee.
You will learn how to stamp and texture aluminum plant tags with a name or phrase and decorate the tag with hammered textures and metal stamps. You will also make your own tag hooks.
You will make one bejeweled plant stake to decorate your garden or potted plant.

Metalsmithing for beginners and all levels. Ages 14 and up.
We’ll walk step-by-step through the creation of a custom forged, stamped, monogrammed pendant and cuff bracelet with your original idea, phrase, or alias in your choice of metal.
Metal stamps, hammers and anvils will be shared among participants. Pendants and bracelets are available in aluminum, brass or copper. Multiple types faces and decorative metal stamps will be available.

Make a sterling silver bangle with a name or word and choice of a birthstone.
Birthstones are high quality bezel set in sterling silver cubic zirconia.
You will get to forge, stamp, texture and solder a sterling silver bangle.
*additional bangles and birthstones may be purchased

You will make one copper forged ring for practice and one sterling silver forged ring.
You will learn how to anneal copper and sterling silver, cold forging, texturing and stamping.
Class should take approximately 2.5 hrs, but allot some extra time in case it take a bit longer.
Class minimum is 2 students and may be cancelled with full refund if minimum is not met.
Class is non refundable. If 48hr notice is given, class fees can be credited to a future class.
Make 2 Sterling Silver Stacker Rings
You will learn how to solder your Sterling silver rings, how to texture and stamp your rings, and how to get the perfect size.
Class is 2.5 to 3 hours
*you may add more rings for an additional fee and gold for an additional fee
